ENGLISH: Frequent power cuts... I was painting another work and I had to get candles and I thought of painting them, with their charm and the feeling of helplessness. I painted this work in 2004, long time ago. It´s slowly become a tribute to those who are not with us anymore, and to those who suffer.

Teníamos cortes de energía eléctrica una y otra vez. Lo pinté hace mucho tiempo: estaba trabajando en ese momento en otro cuadro, tuve que ir a buscar las velas y se me ocurrió pintar el encanto de su luz y la sensación de desamparo... Con el tiempo, esta obra fue convirtiéndose en un homenaje a las personas que ya no están con nosotros, a los que sufren...
